What SBA Does

The Student Bar Association (“SBA”) is the student legislative body at the University of South Carolina School of Law and is comprised of an Executive Council (with four members) and a Legislative Council (with eight members from each class for a total of 24 representatives). SBA represents student interests and serves as the liaison between student body, administration, and faculty. It also provides many services for the student body including the Peer Mentor Program, social events, and intramural sports.

SBA hosts a multitude of social and alumni events including:

  • SBA Band Party
  • Monster’s Ball
  • Barrister’s Ball
  • SBA Golf Tournament
  • Good Deed Fridays
  • South Carolina Bar Young Lawyer Division Happy Hours
  • SBA/YLD Pig Cook-off
  • End of semester celebrations
  • Welcome Back Reception

For students who wish to join the Student Bar Association, dues are:

3 year membership: $90
2 year membership: $65
1 year membership: $35
