The purpose of the Moot Court Bar is to conduct intramural appellate advocacy competitions: to select, promote and prepare student teams to represent the law school in regional and national appellate advocacy competitions and to help students strive for excellence in appellate advocacy and legal writing. A competition is held in the fall to select members from the second year class. Students who participate in the Second Year Competition will submit an appellate brief and argue it in front of a panel of judges. The strongest writers and oral advocates are invited to become members of the Moot Court Bar.
The 2L Kate Bockman Memorial Competition will begin with a MANDATORY meeting for interested participants. Please plan to attend ONE of the following meetings:
Tuesday, September 2 at 12:40pm in Rm. 335
Wednesday, September 3 at 12:40pm in Rm. 231
Thursday, September 4 at 3:30pm in Auditorium Wing 160 A
Lunch will be provided at the 12:40pm meetings. We hope to see you there!
